L4 Football Academy 3 vs 1 AFC Warner Colts

After two defeats it was pleasing to get back to winning ways and the opportunity to seek revenge on Warner who scored in the last meeting to take all 3 points last time we met back in February. We started very poorly and fell behind after 15 minutes when they attacked down our left and struck a low shot past Harry. Our response however was very good hitting back 3 minutes later when Ethan's through ball found Paddy who timed his run well into the box he dragged the ball from his left foot to his trusty right to smash in the equaliser. It was the skipper's quick thinking on the half hour mark when he took a quick free kick to play Gift in, our number 11 beat the offside trap, rounded the keeper and slid the ball in for goal number 23 of the season.

In the second half we took a firm hold of the game and began to win our individual battles although Warner were not out of it by any stretch of the imagination. Ross done tremendously well in the centre of the park to play a great ball over the top for Ethan who latched onto it and lobbed the keeper to make it 3-1. It was a big win for us and the aim is to claim two more victories against Quarry Green and Botanic, as we push to finish the campaign as strong as possible.
