Kirkstyle Thistle. 2 vs 2 LCCT

For the 2nd week running Kirkstyle had to field an outfield player in goals with Stuart Falvey again taking the gloves.

Thistle took an early lead when Hamill put the ball into the channel for Barry Foster and he broke away before picking out his strike partner Graeme O'Keeffe who knocked in his 9th goal of the season to get Thistle going 1-0.

But the lead lasted only 5 minutes as a loose pass in attack caught Thistle off guard and LCCT took advantage to equalise 1-1 and it stayed that way till halftime.

Although Thistle were creating plenty of chances they just couldn't find the net, and when LCCT were awarded a free kick just outside the box they made no mistake with a deflection off the wall helping to beat Falvey and put LCCT 2-1 up.

But 10 minutes after entering the field super sub Ian Leaker had Thistle level, a ball from Callaghan found Leaker 20 yards from goal and his piledriver flew into the roof of the net for 2-2.

Thistle kept creating chances and O'Keeffe was denied a winner with 5 minutes left when his dipping volley looked goal bound only for the LCCT keeper to pull off the save of the day and somehow turn the effort over the bar.

With the chances Kirkstyle created they should have been well out of sight, and it was definitely a case of 2 points dropped.
