Today's match was a scrappy affair with Kirkstyle dominating the battle in midfield with man of the match Rab McGuinness and Adam Corner doing the dirty work and trying to get Faller into the game.

O'Keeffe and Carson combined well for a chance but Carson shot across goal and nobody was there for a tap in.

Faller had a chance from 20 yards but was denied by the keeper.

Into the second half and McGuinness started to dominate more for Kirkstyle and chances started to come for them with Foster having the best of them but his effort lifted over the bar.

With 15 minutes left and both sides starting to tire in the sun Kirkstyle made the breakthrough.

Brian Faller went on a mazy run and found Graeme O'Keeffe 20 yards out and he took it first time with the outside of his foot and bent it round 2 players in front of him and squeezed it perfectly into the bottom corner for another goal of the season contender.

Thistle saw out the game and could have had a second right at the death with Rab O'donohue putting the chance over.

A gritty performance today but ground out with emergency goalkeeper Stuart falvey keeping a clean sheet and having very little to do as Kirkstyle picked up all 3 points.
