Halas Hawks Girls U13 1 vs 1 Kidderminster Lions Girls

An away trip to Halas in the wet was always going to be a tough task.

Halas won our league last season so are always tough opposition.

We started really well piling the pressure on the Halas defense. All 3 forwards were looking strong and the midfield were playing some lovely football.

The back 4 never looked under pressure and dealt with the rare Halas breaks easily.

We took the lead after a good ball from Ruby broke the Halas high line, Scarlett sprinting through to score her third goal in 2 games.

It was a well deserved lead and spurred the girls on to create several more great chances with high pressure on the Halas defense not giving them a second to settle

Somehow Halas managed to keep it down to 1 goal and half time was 1-0.

Second half Halas came out far stronger and pressured our back line constantly with the ball rarely getting to our forwards. The defense did really well keeping the attack at bay until their wide midfielder broke and managed to fire past demi for 1-1.

We then woke up again and last 15 mins was really close with both sides having good chances.

All in all a great game to watch but possibly a game they will be more happy with a draw than us.

Taking the positives Halas are a very strong side and we looked far better than them for much of the game. The workrate was great as always and passing at times was brilliant to watch.
