Both teams promoted from last year were looking for there first win of the season.
Uphill started brightest of both teams with good possesion of the ball & using the full width of the pitch. This stretched valley & 25 minutes into the game it was Uphill who found themselves in front. A well crossed ball from the left hand side saw mixup between defender & goalkeeper & the Uphill Striker was on target to put them 0-1 ahead.
The first goal seemed to knock Kenn Valleys confidence as in the next 5 minutes they were to be 0-2 down after a well timed through ball saw the Uphill striker 1 on 1 with Stu Wilson in the Valley goal with the striker tucking the ball through the legs of Wilson. Valley were again backs against the wall 30 minutes into the game.
In the latter stages of the first half Valley were trying to push with chances coming from Ben Stanley & Josh Davies. Both of which just wide of the goal.
Half Time KVFC 0 - 2 Uphill Castle Res
KVFC started the better of the 2 teams in the second half cutting the supply through the middle of the park & retaining good possesion. However it was Uphill who had the better of the chances with some good passing moves & Stu Wilson in Goal keeping Valley in the game.
The last 20 minutes of the game saw Valley push to try & get back into the game & they had a lifeline when a well crossed ball deflected into the path of Ryan Mogg 20 yards from goal striking a half volley into the bottom corner.
Valley having all the possesion & Uphill sitting deeper gave one last chance at the end of the game when Stu Pedder drew an oncoming keeper & squared the ball to the edge of the area finding Ben Stanley. With only the defender on the line to beat a well struck shot saw an excellent defensive clearance winning Uphill all 3 points.
Valley have now lost two games on the bounce & are still looking for there first win of the season. Their next game is up against Locking Park at Home.
