INCEPCION FOOTBALL CLUB 3 vs 0 Crescendo FC

Our game last Saturday was at Bedok View Secondary School and that marked our debut with the Red Jersey kit.

Starting line-up for this game was:-

Keeper: Jeffrey

Defense: Daryl / Ben / Kee / Bee

Midfield: Harold / Andy / Lawrence / Andy / Matt

Forward: Henry

Jeff started in goal for us this week as both SK and JP weren’t available to play. The team was introduced to a new formation during the team briefing. A 4-4-1-1 system to allow the team to switch to a more offensive formation should the need arises. However, we started the game with our 4-1-4-1 system from the start.

Our opponent last Saturday was a bunch of young Malay boys named Centurion FC. 

Incepcion started the game flying out of the blocks. Playing with more confidence from our fresh win last week. Our midfield quickly took control and dominated possessions. Jason was bossing around the left side of midfield and he could have scored two goals within the space of 10 mins. His first missed from a Harold corner and his second from 20 yards out. Patrick also had a narrowly missed header after a brilliant free kick from Harold from the right. We had so much domination in the first 20 mins but we just could not convert our chances.

Halfway through the first half, the team was instructed to change to a 4-4-1-1 system. Harold was shifted to the center to support the striker. This role allowed him to have the ball more and hopefully to produce more magic to support the attacks. We had at least 7 missed chances to score and none of them was converted by either the striker or midfield. We ended the half even with no goals scored.

We started the second half with the same system and despite the goalless first half, we have many processions of the ball. We just need to sharpen up our attacking play more to translate the efforts into goals.

Yiong got into the actions early as he’s bullish style of play dominated the left side. He attempted a brilliant crossed but no one was in the box to meet it. This has been the constant issue I wanna eradicated as it frustrates the hell out of me as our supporting attacks have always been too slow.

Jeffery has been very assured in the game throughout. It was his long goal kick that allowed Jason to score our first goal 5 minutes after the restart. He repeated the same with another long kick in the 73rd minutes and this time Harold was the beneficiary s as he scored a brilliant solo goal to round up the game.

Daryl strike a goal in between Jason’s and Harold’s in the 60th minutes. A good crossed from Jason on the left was met by Darly with a clean strike that was unstoppable for the keeper.

Overall, it was a well-deserved win and we ended 3-0 against Crescendo FC. The man of the match goes to Jeffrey for his 2 assist.
