Hurdsfield Vipers 1 vs 2 Davenham Junior Football C

Another tough one to take today. A re run of last weekend league game against Bollington Jaguars.

We started better today than last week and played a lot of the 1st half in the opponents half. Winning our fair share of lose balls we took the lead when Ash played a through ball for Zak to run onto and slot home.

We had a few sustained attacks but shot a few times at the keeper or couldn't quite get the final shot off. Siddarth going close a few times.

Into the 2nd half and we did seem to lose a bit of shape and our early tenacity. Maybe we didn't help ourselves with going to 2 at the back as Bollington left a good few forward. This worked when they broke from midfield before firing home to equalise.

We kept going and the boys were battling but got done by a long ball and a very good long range lofted finish to go behind 2-1.

We pushed until the end with a few corners leading to Toby being felled on the edge of the area. Penalty given but the keeper made a good save from Zaks low penalty.

Wasn't our day today. Lacking a bit of shape in midfield and just missing that last pass or shot. Back to the league next week to push on.
