Hove Lawns FC 1 vs 5 Rudgwick Panthers SX

Lawns put in a spirited performance with 10 men after a no show from Ben Travis. Dan played the lone role up front carrying a shoulder injury. Ben Lenton made his first start for over a year. The game started with Lawns on the back foot conceeding early to a loose ball in the box from a corner. Lawns responded and got a goal from a long ranger from Luke. Rudgwick got their second after a 1 on 1 with Sam. Lawns were still in the game at half time 2-1 down keeping their shape and defending well threatening on the break with Az on the left and Jonny on the right. Unfortunately Rudgwick scored 3 goals in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half as they made the extra man count. Samuel put in a man of the match performance making numerous saves. With nothing to loose Lawns pushed forward and should have scored from a corner, Lewis on his first start headed over from 2 yards. Dan had a late chance go over the bar.

A massive well done to everyone who turned up and put in a committed performance. With a full strength team we would have won.

Sam gets the man of the match, but everyone should be proud of themselves for giving everything this morning.
