Hove Lawns FC 4 vs 1 Lord Nelson

WThe Lawns returned to winning ways with a great win against a poor Lord Nelson team. With a view to getting back to winning ways, the Lawns lined up in an attacking 4-4-2 and started brightly and after crafting several chances, with Jack going close with an audacious lob and Ben Lenton putting an effort over the bar, Jack continued his fine run of form with a well taken finish. Minutes later, The Lawns were 2-0 up after a calamitous own goal after miscommunication between the Nelson keeper and one of their defenders. The Lawns were forced into an early change, when Chris G replaced the injured Josh, but Hove kept pushing forward and Jack was rewarded with another goal after a great through ball from Joe. However, Nelson were rewarded a penalty minutes form the end of the half which was dispatched to make it 3-1 at half time.

The second half started a bit patchy, but Lawns soon found their footing again and after fashioning several chances, Jack claimed his first hat trick for the club with a simple finish after good work from Craig. Lawns kept going as the game got stretched with Nelson trying to find a way back in, but the Lawns held out and there was even time for a cheeky cameo from the gaffer who hit the bar in the dying minutes!

Man Of The Match: Jack Judd - With Three will taken goals and unlucky not to have had a couple more, Jack was a deserved winner. Also a special mention to Gav for his work in the middle today in keeping things organised.

We have won more league games already than we did in the whole of last season, so the promotion charge is on!!!
