Hook Youth 3 vs 4 Tadley Calleva Gladiators

The start to the pre-season work up... after a rather sociable (catching up with each other after the holidays) first training session on Wednesday, the first friendly match was about getting down to business...

In summary:

1st Quarter: rather scrappy and frenetic, messy even. Hook needed to calm things down.

2nd Quarter: tidier with some good attempts to play the ball around.

3rd Quarter: the strongest quarter of the match with real domination and more opportunities that could have put the match out of reach.

4th Quarter: more strong passing football but too much excitement to stretch the lead rather than calm down, positional discipline to see the game out. Midfield was caught out too far forward, twice, to allow the quick counter attack to succeed.

Overall, some solid improvement throughout the game, which served to highlight the areas the team, and individuals need to work on in the coming weeks. Some strong performances across the team, and 2 players to come in post-holidays!
