Hollington United FC 2nds 4 vs 2 Battle Baptists (Sussex)

Hollington 2nds entertained Battle Baptists who have been somewhat the clubs bogey team but not this time.

The lions dominated what was a poor 1st half from both teams , but a 1st goal of the season from Ross Langton from Dan Andrews free kick scoring at a difficult angle and a 7th goal of the season by Stovell, sandwich by a leveller from battle ensured the lions went in 2-1 at half time.

Words were spoken in the changing room and Hollington took a 3-1 lead with a ball drilled into the box and from pressure by Lowes who got a toe to it, caused the battle centre back to deflect the ball into his own next. Back came battle due to poor concentration from the home team allowing them to score but hollington soon took control of the game creating a number of chances before Sub Rhys Warren finally broke his goal duck collecting a defence splitting pass from Andrews and calmly placing the ball in the bottom corner for his 1st Hollington Goal.

4-2 to Hollington, extending their unbeaten run to 5 games and take on Sovereign Saints in next game which will be a tough challenge.
