Haunchwood Vixens 2 vs 6 Coventry City Blue

3rd round of the cup saw the girls take on Premier League side Coventry City Blues , this was too be a test to see just how far the girls have progressed.

We started brightly and had the better of the play , defence was well organised and playing on the break we took the lead with a superb run and finish from Connie , leading at the break and being really proud of the girls 1st half , we knew Coventry would switch things up and they equalised just after the break , the girls dropped off the pace a bit and the experience of the Premier League side began to show , we soon found ourselves 4-1 down and without Kayla making 4 or 5 great saves could have been a few more. With 5 minutes to go an Evie Edwards cross caused chaos in the Coventry box and Millie Straker was first to ball with a cool finish , as we pushed on Coventry hit us on the break for 5 and 6 , final whistle went.

We were proud of the girls for the performance against a physical and experienced tier 1 team , leading the game until the 35th minute was a great achievement, however Coventrys experienced shone through.
