The first game for the S4 Grammar team took place last night on home turf against stiff opposition in the form of Trinity.

Hamilton got off to a create start, dominating possession and creating early chances including a freekick thundering off the bar from Kames.

Good pressing from dynamic midfielder Joe saw Hamilton regain possession in a dangerous possession, and Joe slipped through Kames who took a couple of nice touches before slotting past the despairing Trinity keeper.

Hamilton were soon pressing for a second and powerful CB Frazer rose highest to thunder a header from a well taken corner towards goal, which saw the Trinity keeper relived to top over.

Trinity grew into the game and started to overload the midfield leading to Hamilton trying out a 4321 formation to try and tighten up.

Although, Hamilton were tight they found in harder to break out and keep possession and Trinity grew in confidence as they started to pin Hamilton back. Sub OJ gets a mention for his work rate trying to assist midfield and support Kames. The second half saw a change of keeper, and Kyle was soon called into action saving twice well but Hamilton couldn't clear the danger and Trinity forced in the rebound to equalise.

Hamilton responded well despite the management team using the opportunity of a game to try out different formations and players in different roles which impacted the fluidity of the team. Eventually Trinity found a way through and a low strike from outside the box found the bottom corner and they took the lead.

Hamilton showed heart (Typified by Cook popping up every where to win balls and drive the team forward) as they reverted back to a 442 and began to string nice passing movements together again. They deserved the equaliser when a corner from Robbie saw the Trinity keeper mis-handle and the OG saw parity restored.

As Hamilton sought a late winner, they were sadly undone as Trinity managed to break and took their chance well to regain the lead. As Hamilton pushed for the equaliser, they were caught on the break and Trinity managed a fourth to win the game.

2-4 seems a tough loss but the score doesn't tell the story and Hamilton showed great spirit, heart and togetherness as well as playing some lovely footy. Both the Ref and the opposition manager spoke highly about the teams debut and the potential we have to learn from the game and grow stronger.
