With the visit of Kilwinning Rangers for this third round Scottish cup tie, it was a very poor start where we found ourselves 2-0 down after 7 mins. The first goal was from a penalty by poor challenge by Logan (straight after a dive from Kilwinning player that went unpunished). The 2nd goal from indecisive defenders and keeper failing to clear. Following the shaky start the boys came into the game creating and going close with a number of chances but unfortunately no end product.

Kilwinning proceeded to add another 4 goals in the last 13 mins of the first half to make it a disappointing 0-6 at half-time.

There was much improvement from the boys in the second half, restricting Kilwinning to a further 2 goals.

The biggest difference in the teams was the pressing game imposed by Kilwinning and the amount of work they were prepared to do. It was obvious that Kilwinning were more football wise on the pitch, stopping Haddington playing when required by a various means.

All in all a disappointing result where the difference in scored should have not been as large. Lessons to be learned for the boys.
