Greenfields Youth U13 Pant 1 vs 3 Greenfields Youth U13 Puma

It was derby day at the King George V playing fields today with the fixture between these two sides as keenly contested as ever.

The game started very evenly with both sides looking to get on the ball and control possession. The pumas capitalised on a mix up at the back to take the lead and went in at half time a goal up.

The Pumas goalkeeper made a succession of brilliant saves throughout the game, but the Panthers were able to equalise due to good awareness by Will following a shot from Noah.

At 1-1 the game again was very even and finely poised with both sides looking to create openings. The panthers boys played some great combinations and had a number of good chances throughout the second half. Unfortunately, they conceded again after failing to deal with a ball into the box.

We then decided to throw men forward with only 8 minutes remaining. The Pumas again took advantage of some naive positioning to score a well worked goal.

Well done to the Pumas for taking their chances and their goalkeeper produced some of the best saves I have seen in youth football.

We play the Pumas again in two weeks' time and I know that our boys are looking forward to taking them on again.
