Today we had a morning KO against Bournemouth Sports Cannons, at Chapel Gate. Having never playing them before, we didn't know how they played, and I was really impressed with the desire and hunger from them for large parts of the game.
Our boys were still asleep for 15 mins and struggled to get any passing going for large parts of the game. Missed tackles and overplaying the ball on a bumpy pitch was not a great watch.
The boys, however, have the individual quality and ability when it doesn't always work to pull through. Noah scoring 2 an OG from Emilio's corner and Elisha's chip from 25 yards gave us a 4-0 lead at halftime.
The talk at half time was not to concede and playing the ball with more purpose and accuracy and to score more.
By the end of the second half, Elisha had 3, Nathan had his first goal this season, Benji and Jangles, finished the scoring. We did concede from a back pass that gave the cannons a well-deserved goal.
Everyone was subbed off the pitch apart from Benno with players playing in all sorts of positions which can be very disruptive, but I have the luxury of a group of boys who can adapt to these challenges I give them.
We should have had more goals but could have conceded a few more as well. Overall, 3 points and a good run out.
MoM went to Nayan who had a very encouraging performance.
