We returned to our former ground to play the newly promoted Poppies dragons. They have had a great start to the season and were top of the league. The boys knew it would be a physical test but if we could match them on the physicality side and get the ball down and play we would show what a good team we are.
The boys were exceptional today from 1 to 11 and the 4 subs continued the dominance which was so pleasing.
After a shaky first minute the boys grew in confidence and we're starting to put passages of play together that were fantastic to watch. The first goal was finish well from a defense splitting pass from Olly. The second was 5 passes from our goal kick to Will again who riffled it home from the angle from Noah's pass. I think that has to be one of my favourite ever team goal.
Second half was total dominance and the tireless Noah was given offside a number of times by some very harsh offside decisions. Nick then scored from 25 yards from Jamie G's pass with an excellent shot to make it 3 and Barney finished off with a 4th from excellent work from Emilio.
A big crowd to watch gave the boys a real boost and the support from all the subs on the sidelines was so pleasing to see and hear.
Every player was singled out for praise today but Mom went to Will for his 2 great finishes and tireless running.
