Greenfield Youth FC U14 Pa 2 vs 0 Bournemouth Electric Youth

A tricky game to start our cup campaign against a much improved Electric side. With a few boys missing the squad needed to be focussed and deliver a performance.

First half we were excellent in every department and should of been comfortably in the lead early on. A number of chances went begging and summed up our recent performances where we are lacking abit of composure infront of goal. The boys kept on going with Will causing havoc down the right and Barney showing a great range of passing and fierce tackling.

It took a moment of brilliance for us to take the lead when Emilio who was captain for the game hit an absolute rocket from the right edge of the area into the far left corner.

The boys soon made in 2 when Will got taken out in the box and despatched the penalty for a 2 -0 halftime lead. Half time was an easy one, telling the boys just to keep doing what they were doing.

Electric had other ideas and second half were far better which disrupted our play and the boys started to make poor decisions. We were never under any real threat but made it harder for ourselves to be more comfortable. The game then spilt over with the electric boys losing their heads. 5 yellow cards for dissent and a red for kicking out. The boys kept their cool and didn't engage with the stupid antics which was very pleasing to see.

Through to the next round which is all that matters and signs that the team is getting back to the way they know we can play.
