Greenfield Youth FC U13 Pa 8 vs 1 Bransgore Youth U13

A strange game today for the boys. Bransgore turned up with 10 players and also had to change the goalie just before KO because of a hand injury.

I think the boys saw this and thought it was going to be easy, even though they seem to not know they were playing against 10.

We started well trying to keep the ball and create spaces but our final ball was poor and Bransgore were excellent despite their numbers.

Noah however finished well to open the scoring but Bransgore equalised while our boys just watched to make it 1-1. I started to take the boys off to try to watch and understand how we were playing and how we could improve. They were watching and giving me feedback which was very positive. We scored twice more through Noah and Olly to make it 3-1 at half time. The boys wanted to say things at halftime which was great to hear as they are now confident enough to speak about the game which can only help their development.

Second half we played some good stuff and with Bransgore running out of steam we scored another 5. Noah with another 2, Jangles 2 and Josh with a great strike which finished off a fun goal that involved the crossbar hit from 4 yards out an attempted scorpion kick and Josh to rifle it home.

The boys needed to win and so the pressure is kept on going into the last game of the season.

Mom went to Nathan today for an excellent performance with his distribution from the back and an overall very assured display.
