Glebe U9 Jaguars drew 4–4 with Smart Sport FC U9 in a competitive 7-a-side league fixture at Park Hill Park on 8 February 2026, with kick-off at 11:45am. The match was played over four quarters.
Glebe made an excellent start, taking the lead inside the first minute when Freddie Brown scored from close range. The Jaguars doubled their advantage shortly afterwards, with Brown providing the assist for Freddie Chenery, who finished calmly in the 2nd minute.
Smart Sport FC responded quickly, scoring in the 4th minute to reduce the deficit to 2–1. The match then settled into a competitive rhythm, with both teams creating chances.
Substitutions were made as Lewis Whyte replaced George Mansell, and George Martin came on for Alexander Walsh, as Glebe adjusted their shape. Glebe continued to press and went close through Freddie Brown in the 18th minute, followed by an effort from Lewis Whyte in the 20th minute.
Glebe extended their lead in the 29th minute when Ben Insall scored with a well controlled long range shot. Shortly after, goalkeeper Harry produced an excellent penalty save in the 32nd minute, preserving Glebe’s two-goal advantage.
The second half saw further changes, with Freddie Chenery replacing George Martin, George Mansell coming on for Freddie Brown, and Alexander Walsh returning in place of Wins. Glebe increased their lead again in the 36th minute, as Lewis Whyte scored to make it 4–1.
Smart Sport FC responded in the 40th minute, pulling a goal back to keep the contest alive. Glebe continued to create chances, with George Mansell (38’), Ben Insall (39’, 41’) and Freddie Chenery (41’, 42’) all registering attempts.
Further substitutions followed around the 45th minute, with Freddie Brown replacing Alexander Walsh, George Martin coming on for Micky Gorringe, and Wins replacing Freddie Chenery.
Smart Sport FC completed a late comeback capitalising on the small pitch, scoring in the 46th and 50th minutes to draw level at 4–4. Despite late pressure from both sides, neither team was able to find a winning goal before the final whistle.
It was a high-quality and entertaining fixture, with Glebe U9 Jaguars showing attacking intent and resilience throughout, ultimately sharing the points in a memorable encounter at Park Hill Park.
Harry was named Man of the Match after a strong performance in goal, highlighted by a crucial penalty save in the 32nd minute and a series of important saves that kept Glebe in the game.
