With a changed line up hoping to be a refresh and reset, we could see early on that using the consistency approach of keeping a solid, well performing line up across the games would have been more beneficial.

The 4 players that came in to the line up are all competent enough but clearly were not tuned in to the game from the off. Difficult I know as they have been there for an hour and half just watching as onlookers.

We didn't have the usual energy levels from anyone on the pitch, understood partially due to the fact it is a second game.

We found ourselves looking shaky at the back, we hadn't experienced this in the first game, but after 2 diabolical pieces of play costing chances and 2 goals.... we had an uphill struggle in front of us.

We made some key changes and all of a sudden we were back dominating the game and as a penalty was given in the 2nd half, Connor stepped up and had his gentle side footed penalty saved by the keeper.

We pushed and pushed and really saw the best from Ben with his aggressive running and constant effort from Tyler and Oscar as they were re-introduced.

Unfortunately, it was not our day and we ran out with a 2-0 loss but some coaching points as well as lots of positives to take.

Tyler and Oscar couldn't be split so shared the Man of the Match accolade :)
