Furngate Hawks U15 4 vs 2 Horsham Athletic U15

With Toby in the squad to make his debut and us actually getting to face Horsham Athletic after 5 postponements due to weather and County Cup games for us….

We didn’t warm up to well but we got it in to the players in the dressing that we cannot start slowly.

We were off in the first half. Nothing really clicked. A combination of dithering on the ball, not making runs off the ball and not tracking our runners when out of possession we cost us possession time after time.

Personally, we never looked out of first gear but I knew when we clicked we would get the right result.

Antos moved to right wing and showed his team mates what ‘aggressive’ running looks like and he had a goal chalked on the score board for his efforts ????.

We went in at half time 1-1 and when we came out we shifted players around again. We started brightly and Kian won and scored a penalty but after a free kick given for clumsy play they hit a sweet strike and Harvey was lobbed to make it 2-2.

We then hit the turbo charge for a 5 min spell and managed to get Ben and Owen on the scoresheet to finish the game 4-2 winners. We hold our position at the top of the league and we go again next week.
