Egerton FC u11 8 vs 5 Hale Utd

Our penultimate match in the Autumn Cup; a must win match for the boys with MUFC and Wilmslow still in with a chance of winning the league.

Game was played on our 3G pitch which is very narrow and Hale are quite a physically strong side and tall side who caused Egerton problems with their long throw-ins throughout.

We scored 3 great goals to start but Hale were always in the game and scored from a long throw in to make it 3-1.

Not quite sure what happened next because in a 20 minute spell the score somehow got to 5-5 meaning we had basically lost the league and only had 5 minutes of the game left. Wilf then scored a lovely goal when through 1 on 1 with the keeper and coolly slotted the ball home giving us the lead. The relief from the boys was clear to see but Hale didn’t give up and chances to equalise.

Arthur then scored the most bizarre goal to make it 7-5 then somehow deflected off a Hale player and looped over the keeper. In the final minute, Jaxon then scored with a lovely chip to make it 8-5. 3 points in the bag and all to play for against Lymm in the new year.
