Castleknock Celtic FC 2 vs 3 Dublin Airport FC

Although starting off well, a poorly defended opposition free-kick saw Castleknock take the lead with a free header into the corner of our net early on. 1-0

A period of good football saw us take control of the game shortly after conceding which set us up for our opener. Receiving the ball in the middle of the park, Eoin Girvin created great space for himself with a deft touch to lose his marker and play Harry in on the right who slotted past the keeper . 1-1

The tempo of the game continued on with Dublin Airport pressing well and pestering the opposition defence, but some sloppy play saw Castleknock take the lead again 2-1.

Continuing business as usual, we kept to the game plan and continued to cause problems for the home team and just before the end of the half, Josh let loose from 25 yards and rifled a low driven shot into the keepers bottom right to put us back level. 2-2

We began the second half well again, playing composed football and keeping up the press. The home side were always a threat, especially from set pieces, but we managed to handle them more comfortably as the game went on.

With about 15 minutes to go, Ethan burst down the left, skipping by two players before firing across goal, only to hit the inside of the far post. The ball rebounded back and tapped in by Liam, who topped up a good performance with the winner. 3-2
