Dryburgh Athletic 2012s 8 vs 0 Riverside West End Reds

I asked the lads before the match to use the ball well and work together as a team, use Layton as an outlet when under pressure and they responded really well to this.

This was, in my opinion, one of our most complete performances.

We started the opening 15 minutes cautious, but opened the scoring on 15 minutes through a well taken finish by Rhys

The second goal, my favourite of the game started with the ball at Layton's feet. He distributed the ball out to the defence who stayed calm and moved the ball between one another until an outlet in midfield was presented. The midfield retained possession and set free Rhys who crossed the ball well for Coden to finish.

Rhys added a third through a well stuck volley before Eze almost burst the net with a top corner rocket to put us 4 up at half time.

Second half the lads maintained this standard and Ollie added the fifth with a fine finish. Riverside broke down the park and an opportunity was presented to their striker from 14 yards out. He struck the ball well and it was heading for the top corner, however super Layton Smith pulled off an outstanding acrobatic save to tip the ball over the crossbar.

Eze quickly scored two to round off a superb hat-trick before Hamzah added our final goal to round off the game at 8-0

Super performance from the team who are embracing a new style of passing football. We are looking strong going into the new season which is fast approaching. Very happy coach. Thank you to everyone who supported the boys
