Ashmore FC 2 vs 5 Darlaston Athletic

With many of the squad missing from the previous week , all away on a jolly with temporary gaffer Casso , Baz had few options . Despite the heavy conditions , tireless running from Ricky Owen gave the home defence a nightmare of a start , only for the mad Tiptoner to be thwarted by a very fragile offside tactic . With a simple tactical switch of Rick and Tom , the latter took full advantage of the by now bemused Ashmore back four  and swiftly hit 3 goals before the interval . Ashmore bought on their star striker but we started the second period were we left off , Tom hitting another . We were beginning to look tired , understandably so, especially when Ashmore grabbed a few decent goals . We quickly stepped up a gear and Luke Charlton slipped imto the box to be upended , the referee allowing a dubious advantage . The decision proved a good one however when Chris Downing pounced on the loose ball to make it 5-2 . A great game considering the conditions and fair play to Ashmore , we were invited back to their boozer for a beer and pizza !
