On Saturday 5 September 2026, Cuddington and Sandiway U11 Tigers hosted Congleton Town Juniors U11 Blues at Cuddington Primary School in a keenly contested league fixture kicking off at 11:00am. Following a minutes applause prior to KO in memory of Gary a Barnton FC coach, The home side emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline after 50 minutes of competitive football, much to the delight of the home team supporters. Referee Harry Kane officiated the match with authority and composure throughout.

Cuddington and Sandiway lined up in a 2-3-1 formation, rotating a solid defence consisting of Archie, Henley and Jack. The midfield featured Ollie Tom, Jim and Beau, With Albie and Gabriel upfront, and Poppy guarding the goal.

The match began with both sides probing for openings, but it was Jack Eland who first caught the eye with a slide rule pass in the 9th minute, slicing through the Congleton defence, though it did not lead to a clear chance. As the first half progressed, Jack remained influential, attempting a shot on goal in the 20th minute that ruffled the side netting. The half concluded with the teams locked in a stalemate.

Early in the second half, the deadlock was broken in dramatic fashion. In the 29th minute, Congleton delivered a cross from the right which took a late deflection and Congleton were 0-1 up.

No heads dropped and moments later he Ollie made a crucial tackle to deny a promising opportunity, demonstrating his defensive prowess and earning plaudits for his all-round performance.

Cuddington and Sandiway drew one back six minutes later when Tom played a neat short pass to Beau , who confidently finished with his right foot to put the Tigers back in the game at 1-1 The home side’s momentum continued to build, and in the 40th minute, Jack E combined with Albie through a slick short pass, allowing Albs to find the net and extend the lead to 2-1. Throughout the match, Oliver Lockwood stood out as the player of the match, his defensive solidity and attacking support proving vital to the Tigers’ success. His timely interventions and ability to influence play on both ends of the pitch made a significant difference.
