St Rochs 1 - 2 Cowie Thistle

Cowie made the trip to Glasgow today in the Scottish Cup to face St Rochs and progressed to the next round with a superb victory.

Cowie started stronger and had a couple half chances before taking the lead in the 19th minute when R COZZY was fouled in the box and he slotted home the penalty for 1-0.

Cowie then had further chances to extend the lead through Irv and the Cozzy brothers with to be some glaring misses but Cowie were comfortable at 1-0 half time as St Rochs were limited to set pieces.

3 minutes into the second half it was 2-0 when a corner from Irv was met by GAZELLE who headed home into the bottom corner to send the travelling crowd wild!

St Rochs then changed formation and threw 3 up front as they looked to get back into the game but a terrific defence performance from the whole team as St Rochs created chances before in the 83rd minute they scored a free kick from the edge of the box.

It was back to the walls for the last 7 minutes as St Rochs threw everything forward but Cowie defended as a team with bodies being thrown in front of every ball and a terrific save from Jarvie from point blank range.

Cowie could of even extended the lead in injury time when the St Rochs keeper came up for a corner and the ball broke to Cran but instead of running towards goal he ran straight out of play!

A fantastic victory against a team who had won all 7 of their league games, I’m sure it’ll be a quiet bus back up the road tonight!
