Cowie Thistle 2 - 1 St Laurence

Cowie extended their unbeaten league run tonight with a close fought win over St Laurence.

Chances were few early on but Cowie took the lead in 15 minutes when Baz knocked down a TJ free kick and McDONALD headed in at the back post.

There was a great chance to make it 2-0 after half an hour when Robbie stole the ball off the defender and was clean through but his shot rolled just wide of the post.

St Laurence started to apply more pressure into the 2nd half but Cowie were defending well all round the park but the equaliser camr in the 70th minute when a long throw was flicked on, the ball hit the bar and was tapped in on the line.

Cowie scored what turned out to be the winner 5 minutes later when KNOWLES closed down a back pass and the keeper could only hit him with his clearance and the ball ended up in the net.

St Laurence pushed for an equaliser but more good defending meant Cowie secured a big 3 points heading into Saturdays game against Kincorth.
