Today wasn’t the most entertaining local derby, played on a small pitch with the grass desperate to be cut, but once again Cowie came away with nothing and are languishing around the bottom of the table on 1 point.

With half an hour gone a long ball wasn’t dealt with by the home defence and the St Laurence winger chased the ball down, managed to catch it before it went out of play and cut it back for an easy tap in that put the visitors 1 up.

In the second half we started better and Causby got us back into the game with another tap in. From then on in we huffed and puffed but never really got going or really looked liked scoring another goal.

With around 25 mins to go St Laurence grabbed another 2 goals in quick succession and the game was gone. The frustration is that all the goals came from the only chances they had mustered throughout the game.

With another game on Wednesday we need to start getting points on the board if we want to be at the top end of the table again come the end of the season.
