Cowie kept up their winning run in 2019 with a completely one sided victory against RGU today.

Playing with the wind first half, Cowie looked to get an early goal but despite totally dominating, missed easy chance after easy chance until in the 20th minute a cross from Gazelle was finished well by LOVICK for 1-0

As RGU struggled to get out their own half Cowie scored 3 goals in 5 minutes on the half hour mark when first IRV scored a header from a couple of yards to make up for his earlier numerous misses.

NICOLL made it 3-0 beating the keeper one on one after McCombie won the ball off the RGU defender and it was 4-0 when LOVICK headed home from a tight angle.

Just before half time NICOLL scored his 2nd of the game when he finished from the edge of the box, 5-0 at half time and could’ve easily been double that.

With the wind in their favour at the start of the 2nd half, RGU threatened briefly without forcing Jarvie into a serious save and Cowie took hold of the game again when from a corner and a Smith knockdown IRV scored his 2nd and Cowie’s 6th.

Cowie made 5 subs to give people a rest and returning players some minutes but as per the first half it was a case of missed chance after chance to add to the scoring until in the 80th minute McDonald rounded the keeper and despite his shot looking like going in MUZZY made sure by sliding in on the goaline for the final touch.

Final score 7-0, another 3 points to close the gap at the top, some good goals scored and a deserved clean sheet.
