Cowie ensured they will finish no lower than 4th in their first season back in the Premier with a win over Newtonhill that really wasn’t as close as the scoreline suggests.

2 goals in the first 5 minutes from McDonald and Nicoll put Cowie in command and were 3-0 up before half time with OG scoring again for his 2nd in 2 games.

Newtonhill got back into it with an hour to play through a very soft penalty but Cowie restored the 3 goal lead almost immediately through McDonalds 2nd of the game, this time managing to finish from 2 yards after missing from the same distance in the first half.

Newtonhill got another goal back when a corner wasn’t cleared properly but Gazelle made it 5-2 with 20 to go with a great run and finish.

There was still time for Robbo to come on and gift Newtonhill a goal but Cowie comfortably seen out the rest of the game.

A deserved win with limited numbers available again with the team always stepping up the effort when it was required
