Cowie Thistle 8 - 3 FC Polska

Friday night football under the lights as Cowie made it through to the 2nd round of the Scottish  up with a comfortable victory tonight.

Polska actually took the lead in the 7th minute but Cowie equalised a minute later when SALMOND turned the ball in after a good save from the keeper.

COZZY then scored a 20 minute hat trick including a penalty as we went into half time 4-1 up, didn't tell the story of the half though as we missed easily 4 or 5 great chances

2nd half started the same as the 1st Polska scoring an early goal goal make it 4-2 but Cowie were back on the attack and they made it 5-2 in 53rd minute when DUGUID scored the second penalty of the game.

Cowie made 4 changes to give people some game time and it was one of the subs who scored the goal of the game when CALLUM turned 25 yards out and curled it into the top corner.

7-2 soon followed as cross from Sam was turned into his own net by a defender, Polska went up the park and made it 7-3 a couple of minutes later and Cowie scored their 8th and final goal when DUGUIDs shot from edge of the box was deflected in, but again more easy chances were missed before this to add to the score.

A straight forward enough win and into the draw next week but credit to Polska who tried to play football at all times, and thanks for them agreeing to switch the game to a Friday night, also a special mention to Rab Day who helped out in goal with a magnificent performance!
