Cowie gained another 3 points today with a win over Echt that in the end was comfortable but for a stage was harder than it should’ve been.

After a goalless first half with very little action, the 2nd half was the complete opposite with 3 goals in the first 5 minutes.

Echt took the lead after 47 after poor defending, Cowie went straight up the park and equalised through a superb Irv volley only for Echt to immediately retake the lead with more poor defending a minute later.

Cowie pressed but were finding it hard to get through the Echt 9 man defence but eventually equalised after 70 minutes when a Nicoll header was saved and Lovick tapped home.

It wasn’t long before Cowie took the lead when a McWilliam free kick was headed home by McDonald.

With Echt tiring and not looking like threatening an equaliser Cowie added a further 2 goals in the last 10 minutes from Gazelle and a 30 yard screamer from Watson.
