Cove Thistle A.F.C 0-3 Cowie

A good start to the season for Cowie as they proved too strong for a much changed Cove side.

4 of the 7 new signings started the game today in what was a frantic opening 15 mins. Playing down the hill Cove used the long ball and pace of the ex Cowie Cozzy brothers to trouble us. One R.Cozzy effort, the only action that really troubled Jarvie in goal, with a quickly taken looping shot that came off the bar.

Two goals in the middle of the first half settled us, the first a well worked team goal culminating in a SALMOND finish into the bottom corner. Provider MANTAS then turned scorer to make it 2-0 after good play from Cammy Gray. The same man could have had a first half hat trick and a Baz Smith header at the back post should have had us out of sight by half time.

Second half was more of the same, we had a few chances with the home keeper making some good saves. We eventually did extend the lead through a LOVICK header from a McCombie throw in, which settled it at 3-0. A good start and hopefully we can take this into Wednesdays home fixture.
