Costessey Jets (B) 0 vs 5 Heigham Park Rangers F.C.

We had moments of good football today, especially in the first half.

Having played ourselves into this game in the first half, with some very good performances, it counted for nothing as we threw the game away.

We are all learning, me included and in the last couple of weeks we have learnt a lot which we have to apply in coming games.

For my part, I made too many changes and substitutions today and chased the game too soon leaving us exposed at the back. For your part, too many allowed their heads and effort to drop, which we can’t afford.

Let’s take the positives from the game:

- Ryan made some strong saves, especially the penalty save

- harry, Justin, jack in the middle of the park did not stop working and at times kept us in the game

- we have pace in attack

- Troy and Steve played very well today in new positions

What have we learned:

- we need to defend corners better and we got better as the game went on, but conceding in the first minute is never good

- we need to play into space not to feet and use the pitch

- everyone has to want to try their best for the team to the very end of every match

I have rotated captaincy so far and I have seen a couple of you play into contention for the next game today.

We have 17 players and some took advantage of that today to perform very well. We need to all be at training Friday to get our heads up and prepared to face these two teams again.
