Corby Pegasus FC Reserves 2 vs 2 Weldon United 'A'

The opening 20 minutes saw both teams up for the clash with the majority of chances edging in Pegasus' favour. However in the 25th minute, Pegasus gave away a silly free kick on the edge of the box. The Weldon player stepped up and unleashed a rocket to make it 0-1. Pegasus responded well and added the equalizer with a goal from Lee Thomson. Half Time score 1-1 Second half both teams battled well again. But in the 65th minute, yet again, Pegasus gave away another free kick. This was again put away to make it 1-2. Pegasus battled hard after this searching for the equalizing goal. Fitness and graft certainly paid off as in the last couple of minutes a free kick was sent in the box from Ants Underwood, this was met by Lee Thomson who guided it in with his head. Score after 90 mins. 2-2. The 30 minutes of extra time seen both teams continue to battle hard. Neither could find that decisive goal though. The game was to be decided by a penalty shoot out. Pegasus held their nerve in the shoot out and came away with a 4-2 spot kick win. A well deserved final coming up for a Pegasus team that simply dont know how to give up!
