Corby Pegasus FC Reserves 2 vs 0 Weldon United 'A'

The first half proved to be a real battle from the off, both teams up for a fight and getting stuck in. Weldon A edged the opening period with the sun playing a huge part, beaming into the Pegasus Reserves faces. There were handful of chances from both teams but the chances were squandered. In the 30th minute a penalty was awarded to Weldon A after a poor, mistimed tackle from Hoggy. The Weldon A player stepped up and fired the ball over the bar. HT 0-0. Second Half there was a dramatic change for Pegasus Reserves in terms of the performance. They began to raise their effort levels as Weldon's energy began to decrease. The breakthrough finally came in the 70th minute after Steven Thain headered in from a corner to make it 1-0. 5 minutes later a second goal was added after a superb team move which seen some neat play in the middle of the park and a great overlapping run from Brendan who unleashed a hard low cross across the face of the goal which found Ben, who tapped it in. Final Score 2-0.

A great 3 points particularly as some pressure was on the Pegasus lads after playing twice in the space of a few days. A dominant second half performance from everyone. MOM was Brendan Logue for his superb graft and work on the ball. Second MOM in a row for Brendan now.
