Claregate Park Rangers 3 vs 2 Springval Steelers Acadamy

Today's home league match against Springvale Steelers Academy ended in a 3-2 victory for Claregate in a hard fought game making it 3 league wins in a row.
Kev Haughton kicked off the scoring on 20 minutes after a Sam "Woppy" Wapshott freekick was met by Marc "Tommo" Thomas only to see his shot clip Kev and deflected in. Springvale fired back though on 22 minutes when their right winger fired from distance to finish just below the bar. Half time saw the teams level pegging at 1-1.
On 52 minutes, a good team move found Tommo with space to slip through a pass for Rodney "Trotter" Williams who took his finish well and tucked it into the corner. Claregate started dominating the game a lot more from then and had other opportunities to score but it was Trotter again on 67 minutes when he was the first to react to a Craig Beale goal kick that beat the defence. Trotter raced onto the ball and finished neatly to take the score to 3-1. Sringvale managed to pull a goal back on 78 minutes but Claregate dug in and earned their win. Subs used were Josh Hodson, Jay Rumbold and Adam Goode. Stand out performances from Trotter, Woppy and Tommo but man of the match went to defensive linchpin Nathan Garratt who won all of his battles throughout the game.
