Cheam Rovers 2 vs 1 Surbiton Lions

We seemed to struggle with the conditions in the return fixture vs Lions, but eventually came away with the win!

Neither team managed to really get a hold of the game from kick off with it looking flat, scrappy and lifeless at times, until Benny Mitro was able to pick out the Maltese Wizard - He who SHALL be named was able to curl in a beauty from outside the box giving the keeper zero chance. Another game, another spell of magic from the lad.

The game seemed to fizzle out for the remainder of the half, with not a great deal to report other than we may have another 'Glass Man' in the squad... 1-0 HT.

We came out with a bit more urgency to start the second half, looking to create more getting forward using our wingers, something that lacked in the first. 10 minutes played and Joe was able to break down his defender and deliver a cross into Luke who slotted from close range to extend the lead to 2-0.

As time went on, the pitch worsened... Surbiton slowly ramped up their pressure and eventually broke through with an easy tap, gutting to lose the clean sheet late on.

It wasn't our best Football but we need to win the ugly ones too, another three points, 2-1 FT. UTC ??
