Despite the scoreline lots of positives to be taken from this match against higher league opposition. Canford digging in throughout the match in very difficult conditions but also not allowing themselves to be intimidated by some very physical challenges which would have usually resulted in bookings.

Despite being 3-0 down at half time Canford fought hard and through grit and determination started to cause Allendale a few problems in the second half. Despite all the hard work and formation changes, goal keeper Daffy was called upon to make top quality saves throughout and his efforts resulted in a worthy man of the match award.

Sam and Marshy put in noteworthy performances in midfield as did Adam and Jordan at centre back all with noteworthy improvements in fitness. Leezer worked tirelessly up front often keeping 3 defenders occupied by his workrate.

Both Cam and Connor can also be pleased with their efforts as can Jake, Dean and Kev. With Ben and Kinga desperately needing match fitness this proved a useful runout for them both.

We are unlikely to face tougher opposition this season and conceding just 1 goal and making chances in the second half is something to be very pleased about.

A tough match in very difficult high winds but exactly what pre season needs to be !
