Bury AFC Maroon Team - Beg 1 vs 4 Bury AFC reds

A cold dry March evening saw the maroons take on our very own Bury AFC reds. From the start maroons got stuck in. And within 5 minutes we had a shot that hit the side netting. Confidence soared through the team. Defence were tackling well, closing down their players and putting the pressure on reds. Midfield did some great passing and moving up the field. Maroons had some great chances but it was reds who scored first. Reds scored again from a free kick to make it 2-0. But maroons heads were still high and they soon came back to make it 2-1, with a cracking shot from Clare P.

Half time saw a change of team as we had so many players wanting to play. The maroons came back out with the same enthusiasm as the first half. Everyone was closing players down and putting a challenge in. Again some great movement up the pitch but maroons just couldn’t find the back of the net. Reds were persistent,and made it 3-1. The game was far from over and players from both teams were really getting stuck in. Reds went on to score again to finish the game 4-1. Maroons put into practise everything they have been working on in training, a great game to watch. Well done maroons. POM Karen corbishley
