Bristol Barcelona 4-1 Roman Glass Reserves

We made it 8 wins in a row with a superb battling performance vs Roman Glass. It was all setup when skipper Dave Hodge tactically lost the toss so they could choose the end we didn’t want.

Our goals:

1-0 After proudly announcing on the line that we never score early goals, Marcin Taras found himself one on one with a defender in the box, he skipped past him and was fouled, penalty. Alex Miners stepped up and dispatched one of the worst penalties I’ve ever seen (video footage in comment below). I guess a goal is a goal.

2-0 Sohail Ashrif came on quickly in the first half after Alex had twisted his ankle by randomly falling over nowhere near any opposition players or the ball. Sohail ‘setup’ the 2nd goal, by taking a heavy touch, or in his words, passing the ball to himself. Luckily Marcin picked up the loose ball and calmly slotted in past the keeper.

3-0 Lewis J Thompson was back to his frightening best, every time he got the ball he caused trouble for the opposition. He got the goal he deserved when after a good ball from foul throw specialist Declan Cooper he ran past two defenders and hit a sweet left foot shot that the keeper got a hand to, but couldn’t keep out.

4-0 The goal of the day, a whip or in corner was won at the back post by new midfield signing Lukasz Jasikowski, which dropped to the edge of the area to Damian Kafara who hit the sweetest of right foot volleys, Benjamin Pavard like which flew into the side netting. What. A. goal!

Roman Glass picked up a consolation goal when a header from a corner seemed destined to be cleared off the line, but unfortunately Ol Lo did not have the other 6 dwarfs with him to help him jump and head it clear.

Our man of the match went to the brilliant ?????? ??????

4-1 win, 8 wins in a row, and now although having played more games, we find ourselves 5 points clear at the top of the league.
