On the morning of 12 April 2026, Bowers & Pitsea U15 Whites travelled to Trinity Youth Ground to face Trinity Y U15 Gold in a league away fixture kicking off at 10:00am. The Whites delivered a stunning performance, running out comfortable 16-0 winners in an emphatic display of attacking football. Referee Martin Green oversaw the 80-minute contest, witnessed by a crowd of 30 spectators.
Bowers & Pitsea deployed a 3-4-3 formation, setting up with three defenders at the back: Rhys Hughes on the right, Marcus Stanbury centrally, and Sebastian Cenciu on the left. The midfield quartet consisted of Liam Stroud on the right wing, Cory Jennings and Huey Huckle occupying central midfield roles, and Luca Cepoi on the left. Up front, the attacking trio featured Benjamine Smith on the right, Oliver Wakeling as the central striker, and Mattie Bristow on the left. This formation was designed to provide width and midfield dominance, with the wing-backs expected to support both defence and attack, while the front three aimed to stretch the opposition’s defence and create numerous goal-scoring opportunities. The substitutes named were Harry Fairchild, Oliver Norton, Marvellous Nbubueze, and Lewis Baber.
From the first whistle, Bowers & Pitsea asserted their dominance. Within the opening minute, Mattie Bristow’s short pass found Oliver Wakeling, who calmly slotted home from close range with his right foot to give the Whites an immediate lead. Barely two minutes later, Cory Jennings threaded a precise short pass to Huey Huckle inside the box, and Huckle finished expertly with his right foot to double the advantage. The early onslaught continued as a corner from Luca Cepoi led to a frantic goalmouth scramble, with Marcus Stanbury pouncing to score from close range with his right foot in the fifth minute.
The Whites were relentless, and just a minute later Oliver Wakeling was again on the scoresheet, tapping in another close-range finish to make it 4-0. The visitors’ intensity forced a substitution in the 10th minute when Harry Fairchild replaced Rhys Hughes at right defender, maintaining the defensive solidity while freshening the side.
At the 20-minute mark, Huey Huckle provided a neat short pass for Mattie Bristow, who finished inside the box with his right foot to extend the lead further. Shortly after, the first tactical changes saw Oliver Norton come on for Huey Huckle, injecting energy into midfield. Ten minutes later, Marvellous Nbubueze replaced Benjamine Smith on the right forward position, while Lewis Baber came on for Mattie Bristow on the left forward role, signalling a rotation in the attacking line.
Rhys Hughes returned to the pitch at right defender in the 40th minute, replacing Oliver Wakeling, who had been influential in the opening stages. At the same time, Benjamine Smith came back on for Liam Stroud on the right midfield, and Huey Huckle re-entered the fray replacing Cory Jennings in central midfield. The half concluded with Bowers & Pitsea comfortably ahead.
Early in the second half, Rhys Hughes capitalised on a short pass from Huey Huckle to score a close-range tap-in in the 43rd minute. Just after the break, Marvellous Nbubueze scored from a short pass by Rhys Hughes, also a tap-in from close range, making it 7-0. Rhys Hughes was again on target in the 50th minute, finishing from a short pass by Huey Huckle, demonstrating his attacking threat from right back.
Substitutions continued with Cory Jennings returning to midfield for Luca Cepoi at 50 minutes. Four minutes later, Lewis Baber scored twice in quick succession, both goals inside the box and assisted by Cory Jennings with short passes, showcasing his clinical finishing with his left foot. At the 60-minute mark, Liam Stroud replaced Marvellous Nbubueze, and Oliver Wakeling came back on for Harry Fairchild, restoring some of the original attacking impetus.
Mattie Bristow found the net again in the 65th minute, continuing his fine scoring form. The following minute, Huey Huckle scored from a short pass by Marvellous Nbubueze, firing home inside the box with his right foot. Oliver Norton then struck from outside the box in the 67th minute, finishing with his right foot after a pass from Huey Huckle, adding variety to the scoring.

Huey Huckle was prolific in the closing stages, scoring again in the 71st minute from a short pass by Liam Stroud inside the box, and then once more in the 73rd minute, this time assisted by Oliver Norton’s long pass.
The final goal came in the 79th minute when Mattie Bristow curled a spectacular effort directly from a corner kick, capping off a remarkable team performance.
