BoC F.C. 4 vs 4 Westway Warriors

Oppo were short, so we helpfully gave them Andy and even recruited a couple of ringers from the 5-a-side game before ours for them. Big mistake.

We started stroking the ball around quite nicely on a warm night in Battersea. Went 1 up through Puntah and it looked at that stage like we were in for a comfortable win.

How wrong we were. Oppo equalised after we were caught a bit flat footed, but no matter as the chances were coming thick and fast for us. What was a touch worrying was we were missing loads and some were virtually open goals. Then they got the ringer striker we had sourced for them on the ball and he was very fast and pretty good at finishing. 1-2. Carbon copy, 1-3. Defenders struggling to cope with the raw pace and Tyson did not have much chance with the finishes.

Ben volleyed in nicely for 2-3 but almost immediately it was 2-4; same fella for his hat-trick, very similar ball through the middle, burst of pace, ball nestled in the back of our net.

Incredibly there were also 2 offside “goals” in that half too, one on each side.

Bit of a half time re-group, we didn’t have the sun in our eyes second half and goals from Murray, then Punt got us level.

Could have gone either way, but with an oppo penalty claim (dubious, I thought) plus the ball cleared off our line, BoC perhaps the happier with the draw.

We wish swift recovery to injured Punt and Conrad.
