BoC F.C. 2 vs 0 Harretons

I was genuinely surprised a while back when I mentioned that I didn’t think anyone ever read these match reports and a few people raised their hands and said yes, actually they did read them. Because let’s be honest, a variable amount of effort goes into writing them - and Pubwatch they ain’t!

However, I was even more surprised when Charlie said that his missus read it too. Clearly a woman of good taste and a good catch. Well done Charlie!

I turned up late to the game itself but appeared close and it seemed to me that we were launching a lot of long balls in the direction of Cesar. Fat chance of that working, I thought.

We went 1-0 up just before half-time, Ben launching a long ball, which Cesar finished well. Which shows what a tactical genius I am.

Second half was tight too, Tyson making 1 or 2 useful saves but we had plenty of the play too and were at this stage actually passing to each other rather than launching missiles at Cesar. Puntah with a bit of a miss from a good move, but making amends shortly after with a corner that Ben headed in.

No more goals and that was that. A pretty decent win. Special mention to Stu “4 pints and a curry at lunchtime” Conibear for not playing like he was pissed apart from one mis-clearance!

Lots of good performances, particularly the whole midfield - and Ilyas we decided in the pub just edged the MotM award with a very solid display.
