BoC F.C. 3 vs 4 Broomwood / Fosters hybrid

Midweek, Broomwood were only looking like they would be able to get out 4 players, so the Fosters alarm bell was rung and the Fosters crew stepped up to make a game of it, thankfully.

“I fear we’ve created a strong oppo!” said Stu, quite prophetically, as it turned out.

We started 11 v 11 I think then we lost Su to injury and we’re 10 v11, then we switched it half time 11 v10, then they moaned, so Andy went off 10 v 10. So the subs were very complicated this week and apologies in advance if you think I have got them wrong.

Anyway, we started well, ringer Tom playing well in defence and Charlie curling a cross cum shot into the net from wide out on the right. No idea what he was doing out there either!

But Broomwood/Fosters were having chances of their own and put two away after Stu injured his ankle in a block tackle and had to go off. 2-1 down, a man down, things not looking good at half time.

But we brought Tom back on and things steadied, Paul crossing for Charlie to side foot home. 2-2

We were still having to defend a lot though. One cross from their right was hooked over the bar by ringer Tom and he remarked “on another day that goes top corner of the net”. Not much later, another dangerous cross from the right and unfortunately ringer Tom absolutely slammed it into the roof of the net, 2-3.

Paul scored a nice goal from the right hand side into the bottom left hand corner to get us level again, 3-3, but still time for another unfortunate oggy - this time a dangerous cross from the oppo left causing problems, James hitting the ball against Tys and the rebound off James trickling over the line for 3-4 and all over.

So it was a seven goal thriller, we scored 5 goals, but still lost!

Probably the better team won.
