BoC F.C. 5 vs 3 5-a-side lot

The 5-a-side boys leapt to the rescue last minute and enabled us to get a decent full pitch game on.

11 vs 10 the first half, but a far harder 10 vs 11 second half when Cesar switched sides.

First half, after conceding the obligatory early goal, we were fairly comfortably on top, Ilyas particularly unlucky not to get himself on the score sheet after forcing a couple of good saves from the oppo keeper and also hitting the crossbar. Goals that did go in: a couple of tidy finishes from Ben, Ringer B Matteo with what looked like a cross and Cesar with a smart finish from a Chris cross. 4-1 up at HT.

Second half was tougher. we were numerically disadvantaged and almost certainly age disadvantaged, although to be fair the oppo had 1-2 older boys too. Bit like The Alamo at times, we conceded a couple and Tyson made some good saves, one semi-miraculously as the ball seemed to trickle along the line before he gathered it via his legs. We were hanging onto our 4-3 lead for grim death, but Ben broke away and confirmed the win, racing from the half way line, seeming to lose the ball about twice, but persisting and finally being able to tap into an empty net past a beaten keeper.
