Black Cats 2 vs 5 Radcliffe U8

After our planned league opponent cancelled the organiser found us an opponent from the year above. What a great challenge vs boys head and shoulders taller.

Size didn’t bother the Black Cats though and they took the lead through Zac.

Radcliffe rallied and despite several great saves from Cian we went into the break level 1-1.

Each boy really had their games on today and Arthur’s fancy footwork was superb. Kole wasn’t about to let these big kids get near Cian if he could help it, great positioning and some amazing saving tackles.

Radcliffe took the lead on 20 mins only for West to win a free kick “in the Harry zone”. What else could he do but step up and blast in home. 2-2.

Rudy caused their defence plenty of problems down the right but it was their best move of the match that was them go ahead 3-2 at second break.

The final third saw Radcliffe take advantage of their extra subs (they had 3 we had 1) and size and they eventually won 5-2.

It felt like a win though as the boys all played so well.
