Santos Sports U8’s 8-10 Rainford Rangers

A crazy and very entertaining game at Rainford today on a quality grass pitch.

We were without our usual GK Sandro so the lads all took a turn in goal. Despite going behind early we took control first half with some quality football by all the lads, scoring plenty of goals and restricted Rainford to very few chances.

The second half was the exact opposite, we scored first but Rainford took control and scored some cracking goals to comeback and win a closely fought game.

Although it was a little bit of a disjointed performance compared to recent weeks, we made sure the lads knew it can be put down to the goalkeeper and more positional changes than usual disrupting our normal game. Our first defeat of the season, but it could have easily gone the other way.

Coaches MoM was Oliver, his calmness on the ball often helping the team build attacks from the back.

Parents MoM was Blake, his defending 1vs1 was very impressive and gets better week by week.
